The 20th Championship held on 6th August 2000.

A warm, if overcast day, at Walberswick attracted 532 oficial entrants to the championship, and as usual, lots of fun was had by both entrants and their supporters.

Winners
Gold - Lucy Herring of Topcroft (her crab is on the right)
Silver - Ben Shadbolt (left) of Cambridge
Bronze - Melissa Ogilvie

The winning crab weighed in at a shade under 7 ounces. (The record, set in 1981, stands at 7.25 ounces but this year's was the biggest since then)
