RoughCast presents : TWELFTH NIGHT

19:30 on Saturday, 24th June 2017
Venue: The Cut Arts Centre, Halesworth IP19 8BY link
By William Shakespeare. Following their sell out tour of A Christmas Carol, RoughCast return to Shakespeare with a typically fast-moving and energetic production of the most delightful of his romantic comedies – Twelfth Night. With the action transposed to the world of the Spaghetti Western, it's the perfect entertainment for a hot and lazy summer evening.
Shipwrecked twins, Viola and Sebastian, wash up on the shores of sleepy Illyria. Although distraught in the belief that her brother is lost in the shipwreck, the resourceful Viola dons man’s clothing and seeks employment with Duke Orsino, head man in Illyria. Things get complicated though, when Viola is sent to woo the beautiful Olivia on Duke’s behalf and Olivia inconveniently falls in love with Viola in his male disguise. To this we can add the drunken antics and practical jokes of Olivia’s uncle Toby and Olivia’s other hapless suitor Andrew Aguecheek, alongside their ongoing battle with the pompous and self-satisfied steward Malvolio (who also has his eye on the delightful Olivia.) Inevitably, to cap it all Viola’s twin arrives just in time to be mistaken for his sister to whom he bears an uncanny resemblance.
Ticket Details: Standard ticket £10.00, Concession £8.50, Family (2 adults + 2 children) £30.00
