Surprising Summer Wildlife at RSPB Minsmere

Event lasts approx three hours. Discover what makes Minsmere such a special place to visit in summer as our guides show you some of our wildlife and historical highlights. We’ll look for breeding birds, migrant wading birds, a wide variety of insects and some attractive flowers.

OPEN DAY AT STEAMWORKS

The SteamWorks site in Blyth Road lies adjacent to the 1879 Southwold Railway trackbed and close to the site of Southwold Station. Just ten minutes' walk from the town centre, it is where The Southwold Railway Trust volunteers are working on locomotives and rolling stock, with the aim of re-creating the experience of travelling on the 3-foot gauge Southwold Railway (operated 1879-1929).
Come and see how this site is being transformed, the 3-foot gauge steam engine Scaldwell, the Blyth Valley Light Railway (a 7.25 inch railway), and learn more of what the Trust is achieving. Refreshments available. Shop. All Welcome.

Tour of Southwold Lighthouse

– 13:00 on Saturday, 1st June 2019

Venue: Southwold Lighthouse, Stradbroke Road, Southwold IP18 6LW link
Southwold Lighthouse provides a waymark for vessels navigating the east coast and guides vessels making for Southwold Harbour. On selected dates tours of Southwold Lighthouse are organised by Southwold Millennium Foundation under licence from the Corporation of Trinity House, take approximately 30 minutes, and are on the hour and half hour. To climb the tower there is a minimum height restriction of 1.1 metres tall.
Ticket Details: Adult £4, Child 16 years and under £3, Family of 2 adults + up to 3 children £12. CASH ONLY PLEASE.

E-SCAPE FESTIVAL

E-Scape is an annual all day festival of live electronic and ambient music now in its 8th year. The event is hosted by AD Music who are based in Bungay, with the aim of promoting traditional electronic music from around the globe. This year’s afternoon headline is Wavestar II, with E3, Axxent Opaque, Infinity Curve and Nik Owen Jones providing support. The evening is a double header opening with Norway’s Glenn Main and the event closes with David Wright & Carys. There are numerous CD & merchandise stands and the event is known for its relaxed atmosphere where the performers mix with the fans. Music starts at 1:00pm and ends at 10:10pm.
