Wakelyns Community Butterfly Day

This community day is all about taking an in-depth look at and appreciating a key part of our local environment, the humble butterfly. Wakelyns is a haven for a variety of species due to its wildlife friendly farming practices and makes it an ideal place to get closer to these amazing invertebrates. On the day you can take part in the Big Butterfly Count 2021 as well as a range of free activites using our agroforestry farm produce. Timed guided walks and refreshments will also be on offer. Uggeshall Country Teas are a long-established and popular summer event, but for 2021 take place only on 31st July and 1st August, at the Old School Hall, Uggeshall. In addition there will be Plant and Bric-a-brac stalls to browse. Free car parking.
NOTE - Social distancing, seating, etc will be dependent on government guidance in force on the day.
All proceeds will be shared between St. Mary’s Church, Uggeshall, Wrentham 1st Responders, and Access Community Trust for the homeless.

Southwold Model Yacht Regattas : First Regatta

A programme of regular races (two races per boat), followed by the Pout Cup, for sailors of 16 and under, comprising of a modified ‘point to point’ course in which each boat has to sail to each bank before returning to the start bank.all There are no club membership requirements to sail in SMYR. Sailors of any age and ability are most welcome to join in any regatta. For those interested in sailing who do not own their own boat, we have a number of competitive boats owned by the club which are reserved specifically for newcomers, and children in particular.
Next Regatta 3 August.

A thought-provoking, poignant, lump-in-throat, dynamic, energetic and semi-immersive open air theatre collage of the worlds and era that surrounded the “Mother of Free Festivals.” Inspired by the ethos of the hippie, counterculture, and free festival movements, and still retaining remnants of these traditions, multi-award-winning Something Underground Theatre Company brings its tribute to Woodstock ’69 to Thorington. Performances at 3pm and 7pm.
Written and performed by Johnathan Brown. Suitable for 14yrs Running time 2 hours 15 minutes (including an interval).
